The Ultimate Gift

The plane crash sight was built at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. We were actually concerned about tearing up the local vegetation, but the garden workers told us not to worry about it. They have a plant there that grows two foot a day. If you're patient enough to stand and watch you can actually see it growing. We would create a path from the road to the site. The next day we would have to find the path. The plant had grown over the path during the night.

This is the Ecuadorian library built high in the mountains. Actually it was build just over the border into South Carolina from Charlotte, North Carolina. There was a whole Ecuadorian village built on this location.

Meet the Deedles

Yellowstone Park Lodge. Along with the lodge were built an infirmary, a helicopter pad, the park ranger's office, and four employee cabins. Of all the buildings, the infirmary and the park ranger's office were the only one with interior sets. The park ranger's office cabin was designed to collapse in around him while sitting at his desk.

Old Faithful's containment tank.  Built in a cave on a sound stage in Orem, Utah.

Everwood

An old train station depot was converted into Doctor Brown's doctor's office.   Exterior was built in Ogden, Utah.  The interiors were built on a sound stage in Salt Lake City.  Through the doors to the left of the fireplace was Doctor Brown's office.  Through the doors to the right was the exam room.

Doctor Brown's kitchen at his home. Built on the same sound stage as the doctor's office.  It was a practical kitchen. Everything worked.

The Way of the Gun

An old, abandoned Spanish mission. Built in Utah's west desert, south of Dell, Utah. The chapel, which was converted into a bar, was built on location.  The upstairs interiors were built on a sound stage in Salt Lake City.

The Avenging Angel

The ferry boat scene was shot at Fort BuenaVentura Park in Ogden, Utah. The ferry was a practical set.  It carried the wagon and two actors.  The camera boat can be seen on the opposite side of the boat.

The Gazette newspaper office was built in Morgan, Utah in a vacant corner lot. The street was covered in three inches of dirt.  It was an interior/exterior set. The wall sections between the columns were wild, as were the interior walls.

Utah Bank was a facade at the end of the street set. It, along with many other facades, hid the modern day train depot. Included with the Bank drawings is the drawings for the adjacent building.
